Helen has been an educator for over 35 years in universities, colleges, prisons and the community. Her career spans the United States, Guam, South Korea, New Caledonia, London and Kent. She has taught MA and PhD students, mothers, grandmothers, non-native speakers, looked after children, young offenders, perfectly manicured beauty students, cheeky carpenters, naughty plumbers and hypnotherapy students.

She often encountered students with significant barriers to learning, whether that be confidence, motivation, exam stress or past trauma and difficulties in daily living. More and more she wanted to help her students become their best selves so that they could learn. Pastoral support was not enough and so she embarked on a counselling qualification. During this period of study, she was exposed to solution-focused hypnotherapy and decided to switch her focus as the methods, she felt, were producing better and faster results.

Helen runs a practice in Whitstable, Kent at Evolution Health Clinic as well as seeing clients at home and online. She is supported by her therapy cat, Rory.
