This CPD will allow you to gain an insight into the common additional and neuro diverse needs that can come into your practice when working with children.
With the ever increasing need to support children and their mental health having additional knowledge will help you as a practitioner to give you the ability to offer support within your practice.
Course Content
This course is structured to be both informative and fun including an in depth discussion of:
- Autism
- Sensory Processing Disorder
- ADD/ADHD
- Global Development Delay
- Oppositional Defiance Disorder
- Scaling and being imaginative with the miracle question.
The CPD will include looking at each additional need and knowing the areas that can impact on the child’s life and contribute to those fight, flight, fear responses, and will discuss the additional areas that can impact and increase anxieties and how we can support with our solution focused concept.
It will show you how to make the most out of the initial consultation and information gathering to support your work and environment, and give you a step by step approach so that you can feel confident incorporating these elements into your practice.
Lastly you will have fun creating a sensory toolkit to compliment your sessions and get the best out of your clients.

Nicole has 17 years experience of working within the care sector. Working with the elderly, teenagers and young people with additional needs and challenging behaviour. She enjoys working with children and has always had a passion working with those that require additional support and care. Nicole has extensive training both in safeguarding, ADHD, autism and behavioural issues.
