“I am a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist and have always been fascinated with our behaviours and emotions and the link to how our brains work.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy allows me to bring together a love of Psychology, my scientific background and most importantly my desire to help people in a positive and goal orientated process.

When I first heard the ‘Explanation of the Brain’, as used in the therapy sessions, and why we experience anxiety, stress, depression and the fear response,  it was a ‘light bulb’ moment.  I could really relate to this being a response so many of us have to our day to day situations.  With Solution Focused Hypnotherapy we can do something positive about changing it to be better!

My academic background is in Biochemistry and I worked in the Pharmaceutical Industry for more than 30 years.  From experience I understand work place stress,  juggling a work / life balance and the demands of our modern day lives. These pressures can change at different times of our lives and with different experiences. This can all have an impact on our wellbeing, mental health and our ability to cope.

I am registered with, and a member of the following professional organisations:

  • The National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH).
  • The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy ( AfSFH).
  • The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

To be able to work with children and vulnerable adults I hold an enhanced DBS certificate.

As a professional therapist I regularly undertake Continuous Professional Development (CPD). I enjoy enhancing my knowledge and experience with focused training in specialist areas of particular interest.  I have completed additional training for Women’s health including ‘Managing Menopause’, ‘Calm Pregnancy and Childbirth’, ‘ Fertility’ and ‘Women’s Health’. In addition I have completed  additional training in ‘Working with children and Young adults’ and ‘Working with Children and Young adults with challenging behaviour’.

I love the science of hypnotherapy and keep myself updated with the latest research.  Additional advanced training and CPDs include  ‘Neuroscience’ and ‘Psychoneuroimmunology’ – which is the fascinating science of the mind – body connection. More recently I completed further training in ‘NeuroLinguistic Programming’ (NLP) to expand my knowledge in this fascinating area.”
