I am delighted to be able to write a review for the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training (CPHT Manchester), Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy training course.

I completed the CPHT Manchester, Diploma in 'Solution Focused Hypnotherapy' training, in 2022.

I can whole heartedly recommend this hypnotherapy diploma for many reasons.

The trainers - Jane and Debbie - are experienced, supportive, approachable, and they make the learning doable and enjoyable. They are also very accessible and responsive between training dates, if we have queries and / or client matters to discuss.

There have also been several guest trainers, who have added a lot of value.

The course is very focused on training students to become competent and confident professional Solution Focused Hypnotherapists, and it definitely achieves its aims: from month 3, we practised our skills with friends, family and, eventually, clients, and receiving supervision for our clinical work, and from month 7, we were able to charge clients 'student rate' for our therapy.

I really appreciate the Solution Focussed nature of the therapy that we are training in: concentrating on what is going well for clients and what they want to achieve; helping them to move themselves, incrementally, towards their preferred lives, rather than dwelling on problems and talking about the past.

Sure, talking about the past and problems, has a role, at times, in other therapies, but I have been really impressed with the outcomes that this therapy is having for clients, and I (and all of my student colleagues) have some great testimonials to demonstrate this.

So, if you are looking to train to be a professional Hypnotherapist, I would definitely recommend CPHT Manchester, and this Solution Focused Hypnotherapy training.

If you want to train as a solution-focused hypnotherapist and psychotherapist, don't look any further! Hugely recommend this course with CPHT London and Brian and Sian. The course is practical, face to face, and helps you learn through hands-on practice as well as lectures too.
Brian and Sian are brilliant, both running really successful hypnotherapy business's, supportive, and bring a sense of humour to sessions too. Each module is really thorough. The course also guides you on setting up your own practice and how to set up your business. Our cohort all achieved about 200 client hours, and the group was incredibly supportive and fun.

I started Debbie's course in March 2025. I had not worked or studied for 10 years so, I was a bit apprehensive.

As a working GP I didnt really know what to expect. I know it works for smoking cessation and I went primarily to learn this and discovered a whole new way of helping people with stress anxiety poor sleep etc etc .
Lots of evidence based studies citing efficacy.
It was hard work fitting in the learning as you start seeing volunteer clients about month 2-3 .
Lots of help given and instruction on Marketing etc on how to set up your own business
will qualify in December 2025 and looking forward to starting to see my own paid clients privately .

The course is very comprehensive, lots of theory, but also lots of practical time to embed hypnotherapy techniques too. Over the duration of the course I have learned new skills, and I am confident to go forwards into my own private practice. Completing the Diploma in Hypnotherapy with CPHT Manchester has been a transformative 10-month journey. From the outset I was immersed in both the theory and practise of Solution Focussed Hypnotherapy with Debbie Daltrey and Linda McEnaney an experienced and caring team of supervisors.

This course gave me the skills to empower clients to make meaningful change while retaining their agency. It impresses me that I was already seeing real positive results in clients, well before qualifying, - Changes in mindsets, reductions in stress levels and genuine breakthroughs in unimaginable areas as well as smoke cessation and phobic response. The course has also given me the acumen to set up and market my own practise with confidence. The tangible progress has given me confidence and real pride. I now feel ready and equipped not only to support others in their transformation but to launch a business grounded in authenticity and proven methods.

On a personal note, my supervisors Debbie, Linda and my cohort have steered me through the course and been available every step of the way with encouragement, direction and kindness.

I had such an incredible experience with this course! The trainers were extremely supportive throughout — you can tell they genuinely care about your learning and progress. At the very last moment, in September 2024, I made the decision to commence my training in the October to become a Solution Focused Hypnotherapist with CPHT Hampshire. I am so incredibly glad and proud that I did. I was exploring an alternative path of qualifying as a counsellor, but it was the solution-focused approach at CPHT, backed by neuroscience, that really caught my attention. I now know, one year on, having experienced it with my clients, that hypnosis is the difference that makes the difference. Professionally, it is incredibly inspiring and satisfying to see the positive changes that Solution Focused Hypnotherapy delivers. It's very hard to write a compact review for something that has been so life changing, but 10 months on this course has not only taught me so much but made me a completely different person, for the better I hasten to add.

I had had an interest in hypnotherapy for sometime and had looked at various courses but this one was the one I finally went with and I am so glad that I did. Brian and Lydia are fantastic teachers and make everything come together in such a way that learning is fascinating and, dare I say it, fun. You were guided every step of the way, not only in how to practice solution based hypnotherapy but also in how to run a business like this, no question was stupid, no step to taxing and you are practising almost from the word go.

Having got my diploma, not bad for a kid who left school 43 years ago without an O level, I now feel super confident and excited to move forward with my business.

Signing up for the CPHT Solution Focused Hypnotherapy has been personally and professionally the best thing I have done. On a personal level, it has completely changed the way I think and through doing this course I have managed to get my health anxiety under control and am a calmer and more confident person as a direct result of doing this course. Before I started this Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) course, I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to delve further into psychotherapy or counselling, but when I heard first hand reports of how SFH gave people with high anxiety, the ability to not only manage but thrive, I had to explore it further. I was soooo glad that I found the CPHT Brighton course.

Right from the start, you are supported and guided one incremental step at a time. They practice what they preach so beautifully! Brian and Lydia are fantastic tutors and supervisors: the lessons were always fascinating, sometimes poignant, sometimes funny, always relevant – you’re engaged from the moment you sit down, through teaching, group discussions, skills practice. I highly recommend training in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy through CPHT Brighton. All the senior lecturers are very skilled, knowledgeable, supportive, and encouraging. The course structure also has a clever way of layering your learning so when you come to the end you realise how much you have learnt and how many practical skills and techniques you have picked up along the way too. I have worked in mental health services for many years and learned different therapeutic techniques etc but hadn’t ever come across something that works so well for people with so many different presenting difficulties before this. It was also wonderful to be able to help lots of volunteer clients from the outset of the training and I gained so much more confidence in myself and the approach from this. I also love how it so effectively combines neuroscience with an effective and gentle psychotherapeutic approach. The training weekends were also very enjoyable and set in a lovely venue.

The reviews are all 5 stars for a reason - the course was way beyond what I had hoped for, Sian and Brian are fantastic tutors and I learnt so much about myself. This was a major career shift for me following an early career in information technology and12 years as a university lecturer in the arts. At 70 years old I was worried that, perhaps, I had left it too late. But the course is well structured and Ali is a great tutor. So, here I am now designing my website and preparing for my new role as a hypnotherapist, keen to help and ready to learn even more!

I knew I wanted to learn about hypnotherapy but I didn't know where to start. Relatable? I came across CPHT from a Google search and was won over by the glowing reviews. And now I get it. These people are pros. Looking back, I can see how clever the course structure is to get you from zero to fully qualified in ten months. The lecturers show up with enthusiasm like it's their first class, but with wisdom and experience like it's their 1000th. They really care about your progress. Meeting a community of fellow students and practitioners was the cherry on the cake. It's been hard work but so rewarding. If I had to go back and choose, I'd do it again.
