Welcome to CPHT Plymouth

Since 2010, CPHT Plymouth has been providing hypnotherapy training to students from the furthest reaches of Cornwall through Devon and into Plymouth and Exeter, and Plymouth’s lecturers Lisa and Tiffany are passionate and enthusiastic about teaching you the skills needed to become a great hypnotherapist.

Our flagship Hypnotherapy Diploma Course™ is widely regarded as the benchmark for excellence in UK hypnotherapy training. Delivered over one weekend a month for 10 months, the program leads to two prestigious qualifications: the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy™ (DSFH) and the Level 4 Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD), awarded upon successful portfolio completion.

Designed to be highly practical and engaging, the course empowers you to start applying your skills from day one – whether you’re working with friends, family, or early practice clients. Each module builds your confidence and competence through a unique blend of neuroscience, hypnosis, psychotherapy techniques, and business insight. It’s more than just a qualification – it’s your launchpad to a successful hypnotherapy career.

The course is held at The Shado Centre in Saltash, and its location is in easy reach of the railway station with car parking close by. The Centre has comfortable chairs and tables to assist your learning, with a large kitchen when you are ready for a break. The Centre offers a large, window light room for comfort while learning in the summer, and has central heating to keep warm in the winter months.

Lisa Wade has been practicing Solution Focused Hypnotherapy since 2011 and has built a very successful clinic over the years. Qualifying in various modalities has helped to expand her knowledge and experiences. She has found a love for working with children and utilises the childs’ own imagination that created the problem, to find the solution. Utilising her vast experience and understanding, she is now managing and lecturing at CPHT Plymouth and supervising other therapists across the country. She has a love for supporting people in their times of need and has a great understanding and ability to listen to those who come and see her, enabling a great working alliance to help anyone achieve their goals.

Prior to working as a Hypnotherapist, Tiffany gained a BSc(hons) and Masters in ecology and worked internationally as a trainer and mentor for an international conservation charity. She trained with David Newton in 2011 when he first set up the Plymouth branch of CPHT.

Hypnotherapy Diploma Course

Based on the latest research and neuroscience, CPHT’s accredited Hypnotherapy Diploma Course™ will equip you to become an effective and business-ready solution focused Hypnotherapist. Whether you have prior experience as a helping professional or are looking to completely change your career, you can graduate with all the necessary skills and knowledge you need to begin your career immediately. 

Successful completion of the course leads to the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (DSFH). In addition, successful completion of your accompanying portfolio leads to the Level 4 NCFE accredited Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma (HPD). 

Your diploma level hypnotherapy training is made up of 10 modules delivered one weekend a month, over 10 months. This allows you time to practice yours skills and build your confidence between modules. It also means you can fit your training around your life and current commitments.

Venue Details

The Shado Centre has a large kitchen for all to use. This includes kettles and kitchen utensils such as cups, plates and cutlery. All students have access to the use of the fridge and microwave. A short distance away there are shops and supermarkets as well as fast food outlets should you wish to treat yourself.

Next to The Shado Centre, is a very large carpark used for Saltash Leisure Centre, Saltash Football Club and the centre itself. This is a FREE car park and has no restrictions.

Coming from the direction of Plymouth, follow A38 over the Tamer River crossing the Tamar Bridge. Exit at the first exit after the bridge onto Fore Street. Continue ahead (3rd exit) at the roundabout onto Callington Road. You will find Plougastel Road on the left and the Centre immediately on your right before the car park.

Saltash Train Station is approximately 15 minutes’ walk away and trains run regularly on weekends. The Shado Centre is easily accessible by foot and by wheels as all rooms and entrances are on the ground floor and there are no steps. Toilets for people with difficulties are also available.
